As the NFL preseason heats up, the New Orleans Saints are gearing up for joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams this Thursday in California. This event promises to be a thrilling opportunity for both teams to sharpen their skills and assess their rosters before the season kicks off. Joint practices have surged in popularity across the league, enabling teams to create competitive environments that mimic game situations while encouraging teamwork and camaraderie.
Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore offered a few insights into what to expect.
A heavy dosage of 1's vs 1's roughly 60% and the QB's will rotate
Won't be open to public (media updates likely to come post-practice)
Focus on situational football
Practice will decide how workloads are distributed for matchup vs Jaguars
Will be a thud practice (no tackling to the ground)
When asked if this type of situation could be weird considering the Saints play the Rams in week 8, Moore shot down the thought. "We talked about that, it's the back half, it'll be week 9 so I assume we'll be 8 games in, probably will have a good feel for what both teams are doing at that point"
