The 11th overall pick in the 2022 draft was one of seven receivers selected in the first (34) picks of the draft.

Four of the receivers have received contract extensions from their original team.

Falcons - Drake London (8)

Jets - Garret Wilson (10)

Lions - Jameson Williams (12)

Packers - Christian Parker (34)

Of the remaining three only Olave is still in play as Treylon Burks (drafted #16 cut by Titans) and Jahan Dotson (drafted #18 traded to Eagles) are no longer on their original teams.

Olave’s concussion history is likely muddying the waters , but If you’re cautious now, that wariness will only increase with time and exposure.

It’s probable the Saints are still high on Olave, but if they were sold, he’d already be paid.

Derek Carr recently stopped by the Dan Patrick show, and while discussing his recent foray into the broadcast booth, Carr revealed that he hasn’t ruled out a return to the NFL.

“I wouldn’t say never,” Carr told Patrick. “Because I’ve learned that when I say never, it usually happens. I think we’ve all probably learned that. For me, I’m training because I love to train. That’s going to be the rest of my life. I love to train.

The rumor that Carr wanted a trade prior to the Saints triggering his contract restructure now holds weight. Carr’s refusal to play cough, cough, retirement also came with him returning the money received from the restructure.

As amicable of a split between player and team as possible.

The Saints agreed to send a 2027 6th round pick to the Patriots for Ja’Lynn Polk and a 2028 7th round pick.

Polk was a recent 2nd round pick, and is on season ending IR with a shoulder injury, but the Saints saw value in acquiring a former 2024 top 40 talent with an eye towards the future.

Ja’Lynn Polk joins Devaughn Vele and Trey Palmer as recent additions to a team that appears to be preparing for life after either Chris Olave or Rashid Shaheed in 2026.

Shaheed’s contract in particular voids after the 2025 season.
